Bad Capsules in Cape Town Warning
16 July 2000

There are very dodgy small red and blue capsules being sold as MDMA or "1/2 an E" in Cape Town that are causing hospitalisation. We have been told they contain the prescription drugs Valium or Diazepam mixed with MDMA (although this has not been confirmed). They known to be sold in different colours - back and white, red, yellow and purple. They are highly dangerous and have caused (at least) 16 people to end up in hosipital.

These are some symptoms (according to www.bitch.co.za)

"In the beginning it has the same effect as Ecstasy, but then it gets worse. You will start to loose or feeling in your legs and muscles and then you will collapse. You short term memory is non-existent, and this occurs about a minutes after you have taken the capsule. Your heart Rate will be extremely fast and you will either be cold or hot - and this may change through-out your 'trip'. Dehydration happens quickly and if you don't get fluids into your body - you will suffer from severe dehydration. When the capsule takes full control of your nervous systems it makes you loose control over your body movements and forces your brain to shut down - so you pass out unconscious. Many injuries have already occurred from this pass out stage as most people are standing and just collapse, so you can break your nose or obtain a major head injury. After about 12 hours you will still be extremely wobbly on your feet and still be unable to control the lower half of your body."
