Warning about ‘Capsules’

4 th August 1998

A number of instances had been reported lately about the effects of so-called ‘capsules’ that are being sold as MDMA. We have had reports of blue & yellow, yellow & black and tiny yellow and white capsules.

In some instances, the contents is a substitute like crushed Thinz tablets, Ephedrine, Caffine or similar stimulants and are just a plain rip-off. However, it other cases, these capsules have caused extreme reactions, including temporary paralysis that has required hospitalisation. There is reason to believe that Warfarin, a rat poison, has been used in some instances.

Unfortunately, no comprehensive and user-friendly drug testing facilities are available in South Africa to verify the contents of these capsules.

RaveSafe advises users to exercise extreme caution in consuming such anonymous capsules. They are easily fabricated and are quite likely fake, if not lethal. If in any doubt, do not take the chance.
