Dear RaveSafe,I was reading your information about Ketamine Hcl. I work in the veterinary field, I would like to help you update your information.
As of last month Ketamine is 3N controlled drug. Unless you have a DEA license, ketamine is illegal to have (California, USA).
Personally I was shocked to hear that people were taking ketamine. I use it everyday at work as an induction agent for small animals (cats and dogs). I see what they go through trying to metabolize the drug.
We call it the "Ketamine Bop" or the "Ketamine Shuffle", when the animals are recovering. The animal's knock their head all over the place, try to stand up... but they can't. People don't always realize that ketamine is a fairly safe drug, under anesthetic circumstances.
One of the down falls is apnea (not breathing)! Most animal will not be able to breath for a short time after Ketamine is administered IV.
Sometimes you need to breath for the animal... up to 5 minutes. With some animals, they won't breath until they are in recovery. Most all anesthetic's cause some degree of nausea. An other bad thing about ket.... is the animals that ate (and the owner signed a paper stating that they didn't eat) and during recover it chokes to death on it's own vomit.
One more thing; the two scariest things about anesthesia. One, the induction of the anesthetic drug. Two, the recovery. That is when the majority of the deaths happen.
I hope this little bit helps you. If they do Ketamine... please be responsible and have someone that is sober watching you.
