Cocaine & Crack tales

There are many different opinions about Cocaine being a 'nice' drug or not. Although some people do use it recreationally, the bottom line is it can have an addictive effect and many people do get seriously addicted. Crack every much more so. This is addiction is deeply psychological, and can be very hard to shake off. Crack is even worse to kick. It can become a real problem in many ways after a while of repetitive use. This is well known, but there is nothing like hearing it from those who have 'been there, done that', and here are their stories. These have been sent into us by people who read this page like you. Why not learn from their experiences ? Newest stories are first.

"Still Suffering"

"I have been Coke-free for 3 years now, but the battle has not stopped .... Five minutes of confidence for a life-time of paranoia is a price I've had to pay."

'Coke has fucked up our relationship'

"The second day we got back together, I noticed that she was acting really weird it was like she didn't care about ANYTHING. I asked her if she was doing any drugs or if she was having family problems or anything like that over and over again.........but she just kept saying no."

"Perhaps this is just another classic story. Well, it is and I'd like to share just because I believe learning from other people's experiences is maybe the most important thing an individual can do in life. "

The cocaine monkey

"My story is, sadly to say, not an uncommon one even in the small town I come from, though in my cocaine ridden imagination it was unique, exciting and romantically self-destructive. I looked at myself as pushing my mind to the gates of darkness and returning, and I welcomed the pain of addiction as divine instruction and the price one paid the fiddler for a dance. I was a little insane and could not think clearly about the situation I was finding myself increasing wound up in because I was immersed. The cocaine colored all my perceptions and redirected my aspirations. I will tell the story of a single night that marks a turning point for me, the night that I was forced to confront my imaginary self and look this individual in the eyes only to discover a emptiness and vacancy of purpose that confounds my imagination today."

The 'bad' stuff

"My brother graduated high school with a genious IQ and good looks, beside. He was every girls dream, and the pride of our family. Our family had money. Through divorce and some bad business decisions, he finally left us back in 1980's. I know now he'd been using all the while. Ben is nearly fifty now. In the last twelve years he has gone from a man who had looks, sensitivity toward others, and an intellect, to a man you'd hardly recognize. He uses crack."

If you have never tried it and are thinking about it, don't !

"Hey im a 19 girli*e* that lives in New Orleans, Louisiana and I am warning you about the dangers of coke.

The shit is the devils drug! Although I am not on it anymore (thanks to me and only me) I can tell you some terrible stories, like...

I got an inheritance of aprox. 30 thousand dollars when I turned 18. I bought a car and I moved out with my boyfriend. We were living @ his aunts house And we were such coke heads. All we did was snort coke. We faught about coke, we could snort a whole 8 ball in one night just between the two of us. We are so lucky to even be alive.

I snorted up over 10 thousand dollars in about 4 months...sad huh?"

Don't touch that stuff!

"I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I've never done coke or crank, never had the desire and never will. But 4 years ago I met and fell in love with a wonderful guy who was open and honest about his past adddiction to crack. He was sensitive, generous, always talking about our future together."

"One night when I went out to a party with some friends we decided to take coke and some other street drugs that were out on the table as well. I snorted, and I snorted till I couldnt even think anymore. The high was amazing, untill I got a nose bleed. I freaked out and became extremely paranoid. My friends were too busy eating E that they didnt even notice my bleeding. Finally I got it to stop, but my nose became bright red. My nose stayed incredibly red for about 2 days, and felt very numb.

I still continue to do cocaine occasionally today, but I have been trying to fight my habbit. My grades went down the drain, and now all I see on my report cards are F's. I dont care about life anymore, thanks to snow. The more lines I take up, the more I crave.

If you want to be someone in life, it'd be wise to stay far away from cocaine."

"Coke: it's bad news. If you haven't started yet, don't. What did coke did to me: it turned me into an asshole , a big one.

In the two years I did coke I picked up enough bad karma to last me another 10 live times.(working hard to make up for the past).

It all started with the odd line now and then. Then one morning I woke up feeling a bit down so I did a line, that gave me the necessary boost. So every morning I did coke for breakfast , then lunch and before I knew , I was doing between 5 & 10 grams a day.

Please remember when you do coke it just doesn't affect your life, but the lives of those who are close to you. It took 6 months of pure hell in a foreign country to get my shit together.(No fun at all)

I know some of you are thinking who is he to preach to me, but please learn from my experience: it's for FREE."

"Although I'm no longer into it, and was never "into it" in a way that it controlled my life, I can share an experience that opened my eyes.

One of the first times I tried coke was in New York, whilst visiting my brother. After a couple of beers we went walking around the city. Somehow I got caught up talking to this street hustler and became very interested inhis stories. My brother got slightly concerned when I agreed to buy some coke for the guy, so as to carry on our conversation. (In retrospect I think it had something to do with delusions about discovering New York's
underbelly first-hand.)

I followed Jimmy into Alphabet City where white boys aren't overly familiar to the locals. I decided that I'd indulge in a line of Charlie too. When in Alpahabet City, etc.

Anyway, a few hours later, my brother found me sitting on the pavement, unconcerned about my heavy nose bleed. Arrogantly I told him that I was fine, and that he should go home if he had a problem. I ended up spending all my money on coke, and all my time wondering about with Jimmy, stealing beers from deli's and listening to his ridiculous stories.

We then picked up some hookers and went our own wired ways. A few more lines and a few hits from this girls crack pipe later, it began to dawn on me that I was in a grotty motel at nine in the morning, and didn't know which part of New York I was in. When I saw the track marks in my paid companions legs, I decided to find my way home. I got back to the apartment two and a half days after I'd left for a casual beer. It took me over a week for me to feel physically normal again.

I know this isn't a story about a kid who gets picked up from the emergency ward by his parents after battling the drug for years, but it is a story about a fairly "together" person who mistook cocaine for a subtle and a 'relatively harmless in moderation' type of drug."

"The trouble is, unless you have quality coke and carefully measure out the dosage etc you are playing Russian roulette and as in Russian roulette you are ok until you happen to get the bullet and then its all over. Coke is "overdose lethal", E and A aren't as far as the evidence suggests, and moreover it is easy to accidentally OD on coke, while with alcohol say (which is also overdose lethal) you have to go out of your way to OD."

"Coke is one of the easiest things to OD on. And you don't have to do a lot either (although obviously the more more more syndrome leads to a lot of deaths). If you have any heart problems, or high blood pressure, then coke is a drug that you need to stay away from - crack even more so.

Also, saying it is hypocritical to have an "elitist" drug mentality (i.e users of A and E) imo is a lot of bullshit. I think that cokeheads are the scum of the earth and I am one myself (well, I'm in NA now...so I'm trying to kick it). Spend five minutes in a crack house and you will change your opinion forever.

I don't want to sound preachy, but coke nearly destroyed my life and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. So, stick to E and A - it might not be 100% safe, but the chances are a fuck side better that you're going to come out of the other end alive and with your dignity firmly in tact."

"Without exception, every person I know that has used cocaine regularly has fucked up in a big way.

IMHO what's the point of using something that distances you from everyone else, shortens your fuse, causes you to repeat yourself over and over again with the same stories, lies to you and causes you to hang so badly you'd do just about anything for another line?

When next you find time between trips to the toilet in a club, have a good look at the people you're being flirty with instead of talking - you might find their attitudes somewhat different to what you imagine them to be. This stuff is a killer, a dehumaniser, and is responsible for more human misery than most things I can think of. Believe me, I will not touch it because of its destructive nature. The honeymoon is lovely - but watch out for the marriage!"
